Bethlehem, PA (September 16, 2019) - The International Photography Awards™ is an annual competition for photographers on a global scale, creating one of the most ambitious and comprehensive competitions in the photography world today. Krycia’s moody and otherworldly night photography Titled Badlands, won Honorable Mention in both the Nature-Astrophotography and Special-Night-Photography.
This photograph is a composite of 150 photos that show the beauty of the stars as we see them from our planet. He accomplished this shot after an arduous 4 miles trek over the dark, arid landscape into the Badlands, taking this shot in complete darkness at 3 am. There is a striking juxtaposition in the Badlands - between the beauty of its desolation and the extremely exposed rugged terrain. It is also one of the darkest, quietest places I have ever been to, it really feels like an otherworldly place in its eerie quiet.
